Abstract

The concept of "reputation" was first used in 533 in the legislative document "Digests of Justinian" – a law that regulated the protection of three groups of individual rights (bodily integrity, reputation and dignity). However, "reputation" became the object of targeted scientific research only in the 19th century. The lack of a clear toolkit for measuring the phenomenon, which would allow for its accurate assessment under any conditions, led to the emergence of several interpretations of the meaning of the concept "reputation" in various fields of science.
