Relevance. Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a major public health concern worldwide, with mild TBI accounting for approximately 80% of all TBIs. While the majority of patients with mild TBI recover within weeks to months, a significant proportion experience persistent symptoms, including headaches, cognitive deficits, and emotional disturbances. Recent studies have suggested that reducing body temperature in patients with TBI may improve outcomes by reducing inflammation and oxidative stress, and promoting neuroprotection.
